Going on a tour of Amish country was absolutely fascinating. We love on the completely opposite side of the country and the only time we ever see a horse and buggy is in a parade, so it was completely wild to pass them on the highway. We toured a working display farm which was really fun. They showed they do votive candle making and also had a display on canning. After the farm, we went to a cheese factory with large viewing windows for watching the entire process from start to finish. They had samples of every kind of cheese. That was probably my favorite part.

I have been looking all over the place for a good tattoo design.  I have a few buddies who have done a lot of the designs for my friends, but nothing they have on file is what I am looking for.  So I am thinking that getting tattoo designs online is my logical next step.  When you open it up to the entire internet you get a much better pool to choose from.  I don’t know what I am going to get, but I know it’s going to be a quality tattoo that I will be proud of for the rest of my days. 

My four-year-old boy makes up Funny Songs while he goes to the bathroom, then he sings them all day long.  He loves to sing while coloring or playing with puzzles.  He makes me laugh because he doesn’t usually sing songs he has heard before, he just likes to make them up as he goes along.  Sometimes he will repeat the same words over and over again, but he will change the melody of the song so it does not get boring.  He will sing very loud or very soft, it does not matter to him as long as he is singing a crazy song.

I’ve been finding some really incredible things on the Web lately. I’ve always been a fan of audio podcasts, but I’m seeing more and more interesting video shows nowadays. In fact, there’s an entire playlist on my iTunes now just for videocasts.

I especially enjoy the stuff that’s coming out of the TED talks. There are a lot of incredibly smart people who speak there. Dr. Lessig is probably my favorite of those.

Several really good nature or outdoors type shows too. There are eleven shows from National Geographic alone. Not to mention all of the good independent ones as well.

Sure beats TV.
