I’m a medical insurance biller for a busy physician’s group in the city. I’m attending a business workshop for the next three days with a co-worker of mine. The topic of the workshop is cpt codes for 2012. Each year, procedure codes change and it’s important to stay informed of the changes. When an insurance claim is submitted with an improper code, the claim is usually denied. At this point, the claim needs to be corrected and resubmitted in order for the doctor to be paid.
