CNC waterjet cutting is a process that produces shapes by cutting sheet material using a high pressure stream of water containing abrasive particles. It usually requires the skills of a trained cnc machine shop to run a waterjet machine because of the extreme pressure the water is undergoing. In terms of how the tool actually works, picture a river of water flowing out of a dam. There’s a lot. Now picture that same amount of water being forced through a nozzle the size of a pinhead, and you’ve now got a pretty good idea of how much pressure a Waterjet cutting machine uses.
